Kobe Bryant hit a jump hook with 12.4 seconds left to give the Lakers an 88-87 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night at Staples Center.

The Lakers fell behind early, trailing by as many as 13 points, but finally climbed on top when Bryant made a three-pointer from the left corner, giving his team an 84-82 advantage with two minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Solomon Hill answered from behind the three-point arc on the next Indiana possession. Bryant converted a pair of free throws to reclaim the lead, 85-84, but Donald Sloan gave the lead back to Indiana with a jumper.

Bryant and David West traded misses, but the Lakers' All-Star guard was able to ice the game with the jump hook after driving down the lane, reversing direction and cutting across the lane to his left.

Roy Hibbert's final shot glanced off the top of the backboard, giving the Lakers revenge after one of their worst losses of the season in Indiana in mid-December.

Lakers reserve swingman Nick Young led all scorers with 22 points. Bryant finished with 20 points while Carlos Boozer had 12, Ed Davis 11 and Jeremy Lin 10.

Boozer and Hibbert broke into a brief scuffle halfway through the fourth quarter. Boozer shoved Hibbert to the ground during a play, drawing a flagrant foul 1.  Hibbert jumped up and shoved Boozer back, earning a technical foul.

The Pacers were led by C.J. Miles off the bench with 19 points. Sloan finished with 16 points, Hibbert had 12, West 11 and both Rodney Stuckey and Hill added 10.

The Lakers shot 38% from the field.  The Pacers made 36.7% of their shots, but dominated the offensive boards, 16-5.

The Lakers (11-23) visit the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night (26-8), although Bryant will sit out (rest).  The Pacers (13-22) play on Monday in Utah, against the Jazz (12-22).

Indiana dominated the offensive boards, 12-4.

Wayne Ellington started the second half instead of Wesley Johnson, who is out for the remainder of the game with a strained right hip flexor.  Johnson will have an MRI exam on Monday, which will keep him out when the Lakers visit the Portland Trail Blazers.

After a hot start in building a seven-point lead, the Lakers quickly fell behind Indiana by double digits.
